Do I need any specific skills to volunteer in Ghana?

No. Our placements are designed to accommodate all levels of skills and experience

 

How safe are the Dream Ghana's Volunteers and Interns Programs?

Safety is our number one priority. At Dream Ghana we operate programs in carefully chosen areas that offer a safe environment for the volunteer. Although Ghana is a very peaceful country we take great strides to ensure the safety of our volunteers or interns. 

 

What are the accommodation and food arrangement?

The accommodation we provide are HOME - BASE STRUCTURE in which we have rented for the program. Dream Ghana's typical housing consists of a comfortable house in a safe, conveniently-located neighborhood, Clean, fenced. Lodging arrangements always have basic amenities like modern toilet facility and running water (including hot water where appropriate). As part of Dream Ghana's program, local cooks prepare and serve daily meals. If you do wish to arrange your own food due to special dietary restrictions or preferences, then discuss it with the volunteer coordinator that you will be corresponding with so that this can be taken into account.

 

Can I go out for dinner?

Ghana, there are many delicious dishes, such as beans and fried plantains, fufu (mashed yam or cassava), ken key (fermented corn meal) and ground nut soup. Large grocery stores are in Ghana which sells products common in the US, UK etc(cookies, cheese and other pre-packaged items)There are local markets that sell fresh produce such as tomatoes, pineapples, oranges, bananas etc.

 

Will there be time to travel when volunteering or interning?

Free time is available some afternoons, most evenings, and every weekend. Our local staff can give you suggestions for places to visit, or you can create your own agenda. During your weekend you can take excursions to other parts of the country, or you may choose not to travel, and stay in town to get to know the community better. You may also choose to travel before or after the program

 

How long can I volunteer or intern

The Volunteer program ranges from a minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 52 weeks.

 

On arrival, what are the arrangements for collection at the airport?

If you inform us of your flight details, then we will ensure that arrangements are made to warmly welcome you at the airport.

 

Can I go in a group with friends, colleagues, or relatives?

Yes, you can go in a group as long as the program is not overbooked and also depending on the size of your group.
